About Latex Care

Latex clothing isn’t like your regular outfits – it needs some special TLC to keep it looking fierce and lasting long. If you’ve purchased a latex suit from our shop, here’s how to take care of it, so it stays in top shape and keeps you feeling fabulous.

First things first: after rocking your latex, clean it right away. It picks up oils, sweat, and dust quickly, so grab a towel and gently wipe down the inside to keep things dry. If your latex suit shows any wear or fine lines, a regular wipe won’t cut it – give it a thorough clean to avoid any buildup that could mess with the material.

Never throw your latex in the washing machine. Hand wash it only. We recommend using a latex-specific cleaner or a gentle, neutral pH soap (avoid harsh soaps). In the shower, rinse the latex inside and out with a hand shower, and avoid scrubbing with anything rough like bath sponges. Just a light wipe down with your hands or a soft cloth will do. Be sure to rinse it thoroughly to get rid of any soap residue.

When it comes to drying, don’t even think about using a dryer – heat will ruin your latex. After washing, gently pat your suit with a towel to absorb excess water, then lay it flat in a cool, shaded spot to air dry. Latex doesn’t absorb water quickly, so in about 30 minutes to an hour, it should be dry, but make sure the zipper (if there is one) is completely dry as well to avoid mildew.

Once dry, you need to keep it from sticking together. To do that, sprinkle some baby powder or talcum powder on the inside of your latex suit. You can also use a latex-safe lubricant to keep things smooth and prevent it from sticking. This will help keep your suit looking fresh and ready for your next wear.

For that signature shine, use a latex polish or shine spray. After cleaning, apply a little bit of the polish to the surface and rub it in evenly. Let it dry naturally, and your latex will look smooth and glossy – just the way you like it.

When you’re not wearing it, store your latex suit properly to keep it in the best condition. We recommend sealing it in a vacuum-sealed bag or plastic garment bag. This helps protect it from sunlight and oxygen, which can degrade the material over time. If you have multiple latex suits, store them separately to avoid color transfer, especially if they’re different colors. And every few months, check on your gear to make sure it hasn’t started to break down. If you notice the shine fading, a quick polish can bring it back.
With proper care, your latex suit can last five to seven years – or even longer. So long as you treat it right, it’ll stay comfortable, shiny, and in top shape for all your future looks.
